The March of Energy

Leonard Monje April 21, 2014

While in central California visiting my parents, I decided to take my cameras out for some fresh air one day and spotted this composition in the early afternoon, with terrible light, I made sure to return to this location at sunset which allowed me to create this image.

What I like about this scene most, is how the contrasting human element onto nature’s beautiful landscape can produce a harmonic and powerful visual arrangement.

Note the beauty of the natural color of the golden grass (which our gorgeous California state slogan derives “The Golden State”) of the foreground, with the open blue sky above, and in contrast, the human injected elements that slices this natural landscape in half with power lines, and the appropriately colored blue red band generated by smoggy haze which for me represents the energy as a backdrop to these power lines.
